This mandrel bent pipework allows the engine to breathe and contributes to the aim for the largest natural performance improvements. The new cat back exhausts offer a significant weight advantage with the Cobra Sport system weighing only 16.32kg giving a 21% decrease from the OEM weight of 20.75kg. The sound of the new Cobra Sport exhausts boast vastly improved tonal characteristics with the non resonated cat back exhaust offering a deeper more aggressive sound with an overall increase of +4.6dB to 86.8dB on the static 4,000rpm sound test. Within the cabin the redefined sound remains comfortable registering 81.6dB under full load.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe new systems for the M240i are based around a cat back configuration with the option for either a resonated or louder non resonated centre section.
