The use of original equipment reinforcement plates on an E46 convertible requires guesswork and modification by cutting, resulting in with lackluster reinforcement. This scenario is undesirable, so decided to offer a remedy for convertible models that is truly a clean, simple, bolt-on installation.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe designed our reinforcement plates to be a full 1mm thicker than BMW's original equipment Z3 plates, further reinforcing the shock mounts and towers, while still permitting use of original equipment or performance shock mounts. We finished the thicker plate with a more appealing matte black zinc finish to resist pitting and rusting.
