Why upgrade the BMW centre support bearing
The stock BMW centre support bearing carrier uses very soft rubber. Around 20 lb of force can push it off centre. That soft isolation keeps NVH low but allows the OEM bearing to sag, misalign the propshaft and add play in the driveline during shifts and on-off throttle. Over time the factory bushing can dry-rot and crack, leading to vibrations and clunks and placing extra stress on the bearing. The OEM carrier is moulded to the bearing which makes replacement awkward without special tools.
The JXB Performance carrier is the solution. It keeps the driveshaft firmly centred at all times so alignment is maintained under load. The solid construction will not wear out and the thick isolator bushings dramatically limit movement from centre, giving you tighter, more consistent driveline behaviour.
Street and Track bushings to suit your build
- Street bushings: Designed to absorb most drivetrain NVH. Expect a light hum at some speeds in certain cars. With a modified exhaust or windows down you will likely not notice it.
- Track bushings: Maximum control and response for no-compromise performance. These can increase cabin noise.
- Interchangeable: Not sure which you prefer? Swap between Street and Track bushings with the same carrier.

Installation
No driveshaft removal required. The two-part carrier clamps around the OEM bearing after the stock carrier is removed. A cutting tool is needed to remove the factory carrier. Professional installation recommended.
