How DFV works
Compression: At low shaft speeds, oil flows mainly through the shaft jet bleed. As shaft speed increases it moves through the piston’s compression ports. During sudden impacts or very high shaft speeds, oil can also escape via the DFV compression ports, increasing comfort and control.
Rebound: At low shaft speeds, oil flows through the shaft jet bleed. As speeds rise it flows through the piston’s rebound ports. Under sharp inputs or very high shaft speeds, the DFV rebound ports open to maintain tyre contact with the road.
This dual flow system balances the damping force needed to keep the car stable and planted while remaining comfortable and composed.
Temperature stable damping
