ECU Tuning Required for Best Results

The radical long tube, low back pressure design changes the engine’s flow characteristics compared to the smaller diameter, high back pressure stock header system. To achieve the best performance throughout the RPM range, recalibration of the DME is essential. This includes appropriate changes to ignition timing, fuel mapping and VANOS control so the S85 can fully exploit the increased flow. The stock calibration is not optimised for this setup.
