Why you need a baffled sump on the N55
Under heavy braking and high lateral g, oil rushes to the front of the sump and away from the pick-up. Even a short moment of oil pick-up starvation can damage bearings and turbochargers, while prolonged surge can lead to catastrophic engine failure. This bolt-in sump baffle controls oil movement and keeps the pick-up fed, maintaining stable oil pressure when you need it most.
