BMW M135i Intercooler and Decat Downpipe Upgrade for Early N55 Engines, Pre July 2013, Pre EWG
Unlock reliable, repeatable power with this BMW M135i front mount intercooler and decat downpipe package, engineered for early N55 engines built up to June 2013. If you own an F20 or F21 BMW M135i pre July 2013, this FMIC and decat pipe kit is the proven upgrade for lower intake temps, quicker spool, sharper throttle response and stronger mid range pull. We have fitted and used this setup on customer cars and the feedback has been fantastic, with cooler IATs, noticeable power gains and a much more aggressive exhaust note.

Intercooler Key Features
- 5 inch competition bar and plate core with flowed cast end tanks
- Four additional rows at the front to increase surface area for improved heat rejection
- Internal fin on the intake side to direct airflow through the top four extra cores
- Approx 100 percent more internal volume and around 90 percent more external surface area than the standard intercooler

Real World Temperature Results
Road tested through five back to back runs, intercooler inlet temperatures were 135 to 140 degrees on both the standard and this upgraded intercooler. At the outlet into the engine the standard intercooler saw 75 to 80 degrees, while this upgraded core consistently delivered temps in the high 20s across all five runs. Lower IATs mean the ECU can maintain timing and boost for consistent performance, run after run.
Decat Downpipe Key Features

Expected gains from the decat downpipe alone are approximately 10 to 15 bhp. Pairing the downpipe with the front mount intercooler helps the N55 hold power for longer pulls and repeated acceleration.
