How TTE550 makes the power
The TTE550 starts as a brand new standard N55 turbocharger which is dismantled, upgraded and optimised throughout:
- TTE billet compressor wheel with thin-blade geometry and a wide, efficient compressor map
- Machined compressor cover to tight tolerances for maximum efficiency
- Enlarged, ported intake pipe for a smooth transition and improved airflow
- Larger last gen 9 blade turbine and shaft to reduce back pressure and EGTs, allowing safer higher boost
- Reduced rotational mass for improved moment of inertia and sharper spool
Performance potential
Capable of 550 bhp plus with the correct supporting modifications and custom calibration. Typical supporting mods include a quality front mount intercooler, charge pipe, downpipe, upgraded low-pressure fuel pump, and if targeting higher power, additional fueling solutions and suitable high-octane fuel or ethanol blend. Results will vary depending on hardware, fuel quality and tuning.
