The N55 OE charge pipe is prone to failure; after constant heat cycling, the factory plastic becomes very brittle, leading to cracks and boost leaks, and ultimately entire part failures. The OE charge pipe has also been proven to break once under increased boost pressure. Replace the weak OE charge pipe with the Turner Motorsport N55 Charge pipe for increased air flow, and increased throttle response. You can also safely turn up the boost on your N55 once this kit is installed, and not worry about the problematic factory piece.
